Birth and Early Years
Hugh Hewitt joined this planet on 22nd Feb 1956 in Warren Ohio a child of Marguerite nee Rohl and William Robert Hewell Hewitt is more focused in his ancestral formation as his family has a mixture of Ulster and Ireland Republic Culture through interchange between his immigrant grandparents from County Down and County Clare.
Academic History
Hewitt went to high school at John F. Kennedy Catholic high school where the foundations for his future achievements were laid. Realizing those dreams, he graduated from Harvard university in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and a Juris Doctor in Law from the University of Michigan Law School in 1983.
Career Highlights
Hewitt’s career path has had certain attributes of major movement in several industries. At the time of the Reagan administration, Hewitt worked as an Assoc. General Counsel for the Office of Personnel Management, the National Endowment for Humanities, and in the White House as Special Assistant Counsel to the President and Special Assistant Acting Attorney General. In 1989, he became Executive Director of the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum – a post he resigned from a year later after scandals broke out.
Hewitt later shifted to media and in 1990, he joined Los Angeles radio station KFI where he was the host of a weekend talk show till 1995. He was the co-host of ‘Life & Times’ for KCET in LA from 1992 to 2001 which bagged him three Emmys. He was also involved in PBS as a host of “Searching for God in America” which aired in 1996.
Hewitt returned to the classroom and practiced law for Chapman University School of Law as Professor of Law. His career went back to the Nixon centers when in 2019 he became the President of the Richard Nixon Foundation.
Family Life
Hugh Hewitt and Betsy Hewitt wedded in 1982 and they are blessed with three children: Diana, James and Will Hewitt. It is quite observable that their family life exhibits a fair combination of personal commitment and professional success.
